PJ FOSSEN

PJ Fossen is a multimedia artist living and working in Minneapolis Minnesota. Heavily inspired by abstract contemporary art, graphic design trends, video game graphics, and the Dadaist movement, Fossen captures and communicates emotions through color, gesture, and composition. Commonly manipulating tactical collage techniques and illustrations with programs such as InDesign and Photoshop, Fossen combines mundane imagery and items from his daily life with hyper-digitized assets such as pixel art and heavily saturated colors to convey feelings of powerlessness and complexity through maximalist imagery. Focused on the act of creating, his work is a reflection of the intricacies of daily life through abstract, fluid forms, repetition, and rough textures.

Fossen received an AA from Normandale Community College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Web and Multimedia Environments with a minor in Graphic Design at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He was awarded the 2025 MCAD Senior Media Arts Major: Concentration Art + Technology for $4,000 and the 2024 MCAD Web and Multimedia Merit Scholarship for $2,000. Additionally, his work has been featured in the 2024 Made at MCAD exhibit, and enlarged and displayed at the University of Minnesota through a 2022 partnership with the Goldstein Museum of Design.
